Holy smokes! Who would have thought that writing a 250 word essay would be so difficult? Not me. But when money is at stake, it is good to make sure to do it right.
I had picked up the scholarship packet in January, thinking that I have tons of time to fill out the 4 page application. Well last night, I found it on my table under a pile of books that I want to read and of course the deadline is March 1st!
Well I start to fill it out and think that this is easy, when I read about the essay. 250 is not a lot, and trying to really get the point across is difficult. So who do I call but my Dad to help me. He is a genius when it comes to editing, but I couldn't get a hold of him. So I went to the next best thing. My sister and brother-in-law. Having two of them may have not been the best idea, but after a few hours we finally figured out what sounded good. So now I am off to drop off my packet to see if I am awarded scholarships!!! lets hope so for loans suck.
Good for you, KTO, and best of luck! Do I ever know the feeling of working under pressure! In fact, that seems to be all I do anymore - "Deadline at noon today? Then I'll start working on that 15-papge paper at 10 AM!" We're lucky we have people we can turn to for support. =) I would have loved to be a fly on the wall for your conversation with your sister and brother-in-law.
